Midnite
By Nathan Parikh | May 15, 2008
I am pleased to announce my latest free theme, Midnite. The color scheme is somewhat reminiscent of Ambient Glo, but this theme has a better design (I think).
This theme is compatible with WordPress 2.5.1, is widget-ready, is cross-browser compatible (yes, even Internet Explorer 6), follows W3C standards, and is CSS/XHTML valid.
As you will see, I used images for the headings in the two sidebars. To give you ultimate flexibility with that, I have included the font I used in the “fonts” folder.
You can use that to create your own unique heading images in the site.
This is the support page for this theme, so if you have any questions, or have a bug to report, post it here in the comments.
You can demo it here or Download Midnite (325)
Appreciate the work put into this free theme? Donate and show your support! Thank you!

Terrific theme, but… is it just me, or is the font to which you refer not in the ZIPfile?

Glad you all like the theme!
@ bstewart23 - Thanks for pointing that out to me! I’ve updated the download to now include the font.
Enjoy!

I tried to use “one click install” and then go to themes, it then comes up with and error. It says “Stylesheet is missing” ??? Does it come with a style sheet? Would really like to try this theme, any ideas?

Gary - it sounds like you may have uploaded the theme incorrectly. When you download the ZIP file, there are 2 subfolders: “Font” and “Theme”. Inside the “Theme” folder is the folder named “midnite”. Make sure you uploaded that folder only, not the “Theme” folder.
Hopefully that will fix your problem.

Hi, I don’t know if this is a browser issue (I use Firefox v.2.0.0.14 on my laptop), but when I visit your demo site, the text beside the search box on the top right of the page is obscured. I took a screen shot so you can see what I mean: http://flickr.com/photos/cbahm/2540644378/
FYI. Very nice theme!

Hey Carolyn,
Thanks for taking the time to look into that bug.
I took a look at the demo site using Firefox 1.5.x.xx, 2.0.x.xx, and 3.0. They all looked correct. I also double-checked in Internet Explorer to make sure things were still good there and they (thankfully) were. Is it possible that one of your Firefox addons/extensions is interfering with the theme? Try disabling some of them, and hopefully everything will look OK.
Glad you like the theme!

You were so right! I disabled all my plugins and then added them back one by one, and it was the plug-in InFormEnter v.0.5.5.3 that was creating the glitch. I disabled it and the theme works beautifully.
FYI!

I like the theme, though I think the one you’re actually using right now on your site is one of the best i’ve ever seen… it’s the details.

great, clear wp-theme!

I like the theme, but I find the text nearly impossible to read because there is no separation between paragraphs. I notice that a lot of theme developers do this. Where would I go and edit the theme to fix that?
June 22nd, 2008 at 1:21 pm
@ Ann - for paragraph spacing, you have 2 options:
1. You can just manually add the spacing to your paragraphs as you create it, or
2. You can edit the CSS by adding the following code to the stylesheet:
You can of course change the margin to whatever you want.
Hope that helps!

For some reason I now have two navigation links at the bottom of my page. One in white w/ an a.hover and then a blue one … is this a fault of WordPress or did I botch my mods to your theme?
